Im honestly ashamed for having my place in such a mess. Thats what drives me to clean it. Imagining someone could knock on my door and just ask me to come in. I would feel so ashamed. But its true dthe only time i reallz have time to clean is on a weekend.

After spending some time cleaning, it feels so gratifying to pass by the spot where all the dishes piled up and see nothing. There is instant gratification in cleaning. Headspace. Satisfaction. Proudness.

Sure it is annozing, but it also feels good later

Cleaning update

I let the dishes horder up again. It is crazy how easily it piles up. At least 3 meals a day, drinking and the sink is full in no time. I am horrified.

Sometimes, I felt the need to clean. When I was super tired and exhausted after work and school, I just felt the need to do something, taking up the objects, clothes, reordering them, organising them actually felt like a great activity. It helped me to clear my mind.

But those dishes... I actually think it really gets also harder when you wait, the food dries on the plates and they become even more annoying to clean. honestly the method is to do it straight away. The method is not to put the first knife in the sink. But thats also really difficult not to do.

Cleaning the dishes - part 2

I ended up doing a second round of the dishes later on. It was too much to do at once.

I then cleaned the whole kitchen. When I came back, it actually felt so nice and calming to be in a clean space. When i made my sandwich, the kitchen got dirty instantly again. Just a bit. But i decided to clean it straight away. it takes up 2 minutes but at least i dont start to put the first dirty thing in the sink. I think putting the first object in the sink is the beggining of hell. then you just add up and add up until it becomes unbearable. But can I hold on to cleaning my things straight away? Can i be so methodological? I think my laziness is stronger than the satisfaction of keeping a clean kitchen. Lets see with time...

Dirty dishes piling up

The biggest trap is putting the first dirty cup in the sink. Slowly after that it just grows, cups, dishes, cutlery, tapleware and you just end up walking pass by, because you are way too tired to do them, so you just ignore it. The dirty pan, crumbles on the desk full sink of dirty dishes next to the old dried already washed dishes. But you too tired, so you decide for another day to pass by.

Cleaning the shower

Time: 7:36

Tools : Old sponge, Cif, Jar, Water from the shower itself, myself

I usually try to clean the shower when I'm about to take a shower at the same. Otherwise I get water on my sock, or wet my clothes. I hate that.

This time, I will try to clean in with my clothes on. I usually take the old sponge from the kitchen. I clean it up. I take to bathroom with the cleaning gel and pisek. i dont know how other people clean but this is what my mum thaught me. I start by splashing the cleaning gel on each of the walls of the shower, then I do the same with the Cif, including the floor. I start to rub with the sponge in my right hand, but the sponge isn't wet so it is hard to clean. I take my socks of and decide to wet my sponge, but i get water droplets on my sweather and the droplets run on my hands. Im walking on the wet and as there is the product underneath my feat it gets slippery and I hate to walk on that mixture. It just doesnt feel good.  After two walls I realise that my right hand is getting tired, so i switch to my left hand. I need to get up and down trying to get out the dried droplets on the glass frame. I start to clean underneath my feet, I take the products out. I take the tap of and clean around and then put it back on. After having the four sides rubbes comes the part that i actually like. I get the sponge out and I start to was it off. And I like to wash off because you can see the dirt and actually the more dark it isunder my feet, the more im satisfed cause i feel like i accomplished something? It smells nice, it smells really nice. The water is warm, my sweather is a bit wet, im trying to remove also from the side using hot water. Im trying not to get too much water out. And when you see the dirt getting out you know its good. I also wash the product from underneath and suddenly it feels really good, it feels less slippery. I get out, i was my hands after i was my shower and dry them. Then I put my objects back in as im used to. I have to clean around the shower And my feets are wet. And I hate having my feets wet, its one of the things that doenst make me feel good.

06/02- I think I don't like cleaning

I think I don't like cleaning. it's not like i hate it, I just happen to postpone it all the time. Until its worse. I mean, often often times what gets me to clean is having a guest over. Cause then I feel guilty to have my place dirty. So i just clean it up. Sometimes, Im also fed up of having such a dirty space, so I decide to clean it up on my own. I love how it transforms into a shining place with a nice smell. Everything smells nice and feels good and theres nothing attaching to your feet when you walk barefoot.
Why do I not enjoy cleaning? because in itself it is beautiful! The result is so pleasing. But the hard thing is it never stays like that, its never permanent and from the second you clean it, it starts to get dirty again. That is the difficult thing about cleaning, it is an ongoing process. How often should I actually clean? When I was a kid, every saturday was a cleaning day. Having a rythm helps i guess. I dont do that anymore.

Its not that I dont like cleaning, I'm just tired and busy. And if im not busy, I prefer to lay down and relax. I'm probably just lazy. I wonder if the people who love to clean are just obsessed with having everything in order. Because cleaning is order. I wonder what would motivate me, or just anyone really, to start cleaning more, to spend more time doing it. If i do find it for me, I might find it for others.

Is it something that someone could teach? to like cleaning? Could someone pass on that obsession? Maybe if I find why cleaning is so important in the first place, it would motivate me to do it more. Maybe instead of yoga or the evening session of How I met Your Mother I could clean up the shower for once. Lets see if I manage to find a system to integrate cleaning more into my world.
On that note, I will go and clean the shower.

14/03

I still feel my place is a mess, but I am slowly working towards changing that. Today, I cleaned all my cutlerz and part of my pots. I also...
